Television Jamaica (TVJ) commands the largest local television audience with 55% market share and reaches approximately one million viewers each day. The Jamaica Media Comparison’s Study 2006 results show that TVJ is the preferred source for news, sports and entertainment programmes. TVJ is also the station of choice for advertisements on products and services that Jamaican consumers currently use and for products and services they would like to try for themselves and their children. They also rank TVJ as the number one source for advertisements on sales, special promotions and special events. TVJ’s image is also number one with consumers rating the station as being Most Jamaican, Most Involved in Communities, Most Informative, Most Entertaining and Best for People Like Me.
